Quality Assurance Manager

A well-established contract manufacturer is looking for a Quality Manager to join their team.  If you have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemistry and several years of experience working for either a chemical manufacturer or pharmaceutical manufacturing handling customers, working in ISO regulations and managing quality, this could be a great opportunity for you.  The company promotes diversity, honesty, and sustainability.  The company also offers amazing benefits!

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the development and implementation of Quality programs for the organization
  • Ensures operating manuals and procedural documents stay current when changes occur (such as SOPs, and compliance with ISO9001)
  • Initiates the lead in the Quality Program. Works to maintain the Quality Metrics, complaint resolution, and customer inquiries
  • Responds to inquiries from customers and facilitates the completion of product related documentation
  • Travel 1-2 trips per year (to China and/or accompany Sales Reps to key customer)
  • Prepares US and European Union SDS and labels complaint with GHS regulations
  • Interpret Federal Register, use of CFR as it applies to chemical regulations
  • Understands how to report EPA processes such as Pesticide Registration and CDR reporting
  • Act as point person for all customer auditing requests, following through to CAPA completion and audit close
  • Monitors and assists customer contact for all product issues related to complaints, claims, and product returns
  • Troubleshooting chemical processes for complaint resolution
  • Knowledge of GMP as it relates to production and office environments

Job Requirements

Technical Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Chemistry
  • M.S. in Chemistry is preferred
  • Prior experience working in a chemical production or laboratory (R and D, process, analytical)
  • Some experience working in Product Safety / Quality Assurance in chemical or pharma manufacturing is a plus
  • Working knowledge of assigning ITC HTS codes in chapters 28, 29, 30, 33
  • DOT certified within the first 90 days
  • Working knowledge of IATA, IDGM hazardous code assignments
  • Understanding of REACH regulations
  • Working knowledge of all sections of TSCA
  • Experience in all principles of ISO 9001:2015
  • ISO 9001:2015 internal auditor certification
  • Working knowledge of FMEA, turtle diagrams, 5 whys, and other Quality tools
  • Working knowledge of statistical process control
