Formulation Chemist

Duties:
Responsible for driving new product development, evaluating raw materials, and maintaining existing product formulations. Conducts laboratory research and testing to develop innovative concrete admixtures and enhance the performance of current products. Applies both quantitative and qualitative principles of chemistry, engineering, and materials science to formulate new solutions and optimize existing formulations. Participates in field trials to assess and validate product performance under real-world conditions. Maintains accurate records of raw materials, formulations, and Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) data within SAP. Provides cross-functional technical support to North American sales, marketing, purchasing, operations, as well as global R&D teams.
- Plan and execute test programs to support new product development initiatives
- Collaborate with suppliers to identify new materials and drive improvements to existing products
- Conduct and evaluate field trials to validate performance of new formulations
- Provide technical support to U.S. admixture plants, including analysis of out-of-spec materials, returned product investigations, quality control specification evaluations, and SAP formulation updates

Technical Qualifications:
- BS degree majoring Chemistry, Material Science, Chemical Engineering or related; will consider non-degreed candidates with significant industry experience
- 5+ years of industry experience in formulation and testing of cementitious materials
- A basic understanding of cement / admixture interaction and concrete performance is necessary
- Experience using SAP or similar system for formulation management, design of experiments statistical analysis, and concrete admixture formulation are a plus
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations

Job Title: Slitting Supervisor
Department: Production / Coil Processing
Reports To: Director of Manufacturing
Position Summary:
The Slitting Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of the metal slitting department, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality processing of coil materials. This position leads a team of operators and material handlers to meet production schedules, maintain equipment performance, and achieve customer specifications for slit coil width, edge quality, and packaging standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise all slitting line operations, ensuring coil processing meets production plans and customer requirements.
- Schedule and assign workloads to operators and assistants for optimal efficiency and productivity.
- Oversee coil setup, knife tooling, arbor spacing, and line adjustments to achieve precise slit widths and edge quality.
- Monitor line performance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Verify proper material identification, tagging, and packaging of finished coils per customer and internal specifications.
- Maintain production records, coil yield reports, and downtime logs accurately.
- Train and mentor operators on slitting techniques, equipment care, safety procedures, and quality control.
- Enforce plant safety policies and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase throughput, reduce scrap, and optimize material utilization.
- Collaborate with quality and scheduling departments to resolve material issues and ensure on-time delivery.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in metal coil slitting, processing, or related manufacturing environment.
- 2+ years of supervisory or lead experience preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of slitting lines, knife setups, recoilers, and tension control systems.
- Understanding of steel/aluminum grades, gauges, mechanical properties, and surface finish requirements.
- Ability to read blueprints, micrometers, and precision measuring tools.
- Proficient in production reporting systems (ERP/MES) and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality standards.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and operate machinery throughout the shift.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in an industrial environment with noise, heat, and moving equipment.
- Willingness to work overtime or alternate shifts as needed to meet production goals.

What you’ll do:
- Act as a primary point of contact for clients and advisors, delivering high-quality service and building long-term relationships
