Chemical Engineer/Mechanical Engineer/Engineering/Manufacturing/Chemicals/Food & Beverage/Energy/Sustainability

Our client is a leading global producer of specialty ingredients. Their products are used in consumer goods, food and beverage, as well as other industries. They are currently looking for a Sustainability Manager to focus on sustainability at all of their facilities in the US. This role will be based in NJ or IL with occasional travel. This Engineer will be tasked with reducing the company’s carbon footprint.

As a Sustainability Manager job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Utilize sustainability expertise to target greenhouse gases and wastewater management
  • Manage a small team of engineers
  • Support innovation regarding new processes and technologies
  • Maintain systems to meet safety, quality, production, and cost goals
  • Adhere to site safety guidelines and regulations
  • Identify and implement process improvements

Job Requirements

As a Sustainability Manager job requirements consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

  • BS in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Engineering; MS or PhD is a plus
  • 10+ years of experience in Sustainability Engineering in a manufacturing facility
  • Ideal candidate will have experience in a chemical, food, energy, or related process
  • Previous supervision experience is a plus
