Position: 401k Retirement Plan Administrator (FULLY REMOTE)

Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical 401k Retirement Plan Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our clients' retirement plans, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and providing exceptional service to plan participants.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the administration of 401k retirement plans, including enrollment, contributions, distributions, loans, and compliance testing
  • Coordinate with plan sponsors and third-party service providers to ensure accurate and timely processing of plan transactions
  • Review plan documents and ensure compliance with IRS and DOL regulations, including performing annual non discrimination testing and preparing Form 5500 filings
  • Educate plan participants on plan features, investment options, and retirement planning strategies
  • Respond to participant inquiries and provide exceptional customer service
  • Monitor plan expenses and negotiate fees with service providers to ensure competitive pricing
  • Prepare and deliver plan performance reports to plan sponsors and other stakeholders
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and regulatory developments that may impact retirement plan administration
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in plan administration
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in our record keeping system

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in retirement plan administration, preferably with 401k plans
  • Strong knowledge of ERISA regulations and IRS and DOL requirements for retirement plans
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex plan documents and regulations
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with plan sponsors, service providers, and plan participants
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and other software tools commonly used in retirement plan administration
  • ASPPA or NIPA certification preferred
