Role Overview

Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Accounting Manager to lead our cost accounting function within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for overseeing inventory valuation, standard costing, and financial analysis to support operational decision-making. The ideal candidate will be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with strong manufacturing experience and a deep understanding of cost structures and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of cost accounting, including standard costing, variance analysis, and cost control initiatives
• Analyze manufacturing variances (material, labor, and overhead) and provide actionable insights to operations leadership
• Oversee inventory accounting, including raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods
• Ensure accurate and timely month-end close for cost-related accounts, including journal entries and reconciliations
• Maintain and improve standard costing systems in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
• Partner with plant operations to develop budgets, forecasts, and cost reduction strategies
• Support internal and external audits by ensuring proper documentation and internal controls
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and drive efficiency across manufacturing and accounting functions
• Collaborate cross-functionally with supply chain, procurement, and production teams

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Active CPA certification or desire to obtain CPA required
• 5–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of standard costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP ERP or Oracle ERP
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
