Analytical Chemist

The Analytical Chemist will be responsible for analysis, using DSC, rheological, and some FTIR, MS and GC.  This includes evaluating polymers, raw materials, and testing for customer needs, and then working through scale up and setting Quality testing, and standards.  Will be able to make a significant impact.  Interact with Synthesis Chemists, the sales and marketing staff, the President, the Owner, and other PU Adhesive Chemists.  This role is focused on hot melt adhesives, but company has many other Polyurethane Adhesives in the portfolio, including packaging, waterbased starches, latex, etc.

Requirements:

  • BS/MS, maybe a PhD minimum 2 years, up to 8 years of analytical and characterization experiences with polymers, coatings, or adhesives
  • Must have DSC analysis, data interpretation, and have practical hands on work in an R&D and manufacturing setting
  • Rheological characterization is a HUGE plus as they have just acquired this also
  • In the lab they currently have an FTIR, GC, and MS, along with wet chem and physical testing capabilities
