Analytical Chemist

The incumbent in this position will be responsible for developing and evaluating analytical test methods for materials to meet customer and market needs.  The incumbent will organize, conduct and evaluate analytical results and testing in compliance with applicable methods, protocols, standard operating procedures and guidelines.  The primary function will be to perform chemical and quantitative analysis of silicon-based products for quality and product development in support of strategic business markets.  This will include the development of test method analysis in which they will use to train the Quality team on test methods for current and new products.

Key activities will include physical and chemical testing, facilitating trials including analysis of statistical data, project management and safety.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry, Polymer or other Physical discipline, or related chemical experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience working in polymer technologies with analytical testing methods
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Software applications
  • Basic understanding of Regulatory Affairs, related to business applications
  • ICP-OES
  • GPC
  • Thermal Analysis, Rheology & Molecular Characterization, Elemental Analysis
  • Experience analyzing polymers
  • Methodical thought process
  • Ability to work on 3-4 projects at a time
  • Ability to support new product development
  • Good written, oral and listening communication skills with all levels of the organization
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to use these skills to develop working relationships with internal and external customers
  • Detail oriented and highly organized, able to prioritize and manage multiple priorities
