Analytical Methods Chemist

Our customer is growing and seeking an Analytical Methods Chemist to support their inorganic analysis lab. Skip the process and go directly to the hiring manager’s desk. As one of the world’s largest soda ash mining and production sites, you will be working with 300 plus individuals in a fast paced and highly efficient process. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Our customer is seeking a professional like you to serve as a Methods Chemist at the facility in Green River, Wyoming. Become a key member of the Quality team by leveraging your Chemistry education and Analytical experience with IC, ICP-OES and ICP-MS to ensure instruments perform properly and are setup according to documented laboratory methods. You will provide crucial support for the laboratory and operations by developing, documenting, and implementing analytical methods to support raw material release, in-process control, finished product release and environmental compliance as needed. Your robust technical skills will be vital as you maintain and troubleshoot laboratory and/or analytical equipment and processes. Relying on your demonstrated strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, you may be called upon to train, mentor, and support laboratory technicians.
Activities and Duties:
· Develop new methods for new products
· Spec new equipment – develop methods for new equipment
· Training analysts on new methods
· Trouble shoot analytical results and equipment
· Review log sheets for completion and quality of work
· Maintain all laboratory analytical methods
· Maintain calibration records
· Coordinate outside calibration services
· Maintain laboratory master document library
· Manage laboratory waste management
· Support ISO 9000 efforts
· Provide analytical and engineering support to the Tech. Dept.
· Support food safety efforts in the sodium bicarbonate production areas
· Serve as a member of the Food Safety Team
· Perform instrument preventative maintenance

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor of Sciences Degree in Chemistry with an emphasis on Analytical Chemistry
  • Demonstrated skills on the Technical Ladder
