Job Description

Applications Technologist

Assists in all aspects of the research & development department, including producing finished samples in the pilot plant, analytical testing of products and ingredients, and interacting with the sales department and customers.  Maintaining compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities

  • Mix formulations (dairy, bakery, plant-based, etc.)
  • Produce finished samples and present to customers
  • Prepare finished sample labels, formulation letters, assemble shipping documents for sales and customers
  • Prepare spec sheets and nutritionals
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitary conditions in the pilot plant
  • Prepare and present Power Point presentations for customers in a support role for sales
  • Support sales department and customers at plant trials

Job Requirements

Technical Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree in Food Science
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  • Excellent computer proficiency: MS Office, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook Knowledge of ESHA Genesis nutritional software
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
  • Must have knowledge of SQF, GMP’s, Kosher, Sanitation, Allergen, Organic practices
  • Some travel required
