Job Description
We are partnering with a leader in the color pigments industry seeking a dynamic and friendly Buyer to join their team long-term. This Buyer will lead purchasing and cost management for their plant in the Greater Charleston, SC, area. This vital role involves negotiating the procurement of key raw materials — both locally and internationally — including acids, bases, factory supplies, laboratory essentials, packaging, and other critical items necessary for their manufacturing processes at this plant location. You will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies to obtain the best possible pricing, security of supply, quality and service. The ideal candidate will also excel at building and maintaining strong partnerships with suppliers and their Sales Representatives, ensuring a continuous flow of communication, ensuring the organization is staying ahead of the curve on the latest industry developments and technological innovations. Job Requirements
To be successful in this role, the following skills and qualifications are required:
- 5+ years’ experience in purchasing industrial raw materials is required.
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP and inventory control.
- Strong negotiating, analytical and administrative skills.
- Ability to multi-task, plan, organize and meet schedules and deadlines.
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
