Buyer – Electrical Category
Locations: Atlanta, GA; Austin, TX; Charlotte, NC
We are seeking an experienced Buyer to manage procurement of electrical materials for mission-critical commercial projects, including data centers and critical infrastructure. This role focuses on sourcing, negotiating, and securing long-lead and high-reliability electrical equipment while ensuring technical compliance, cost control, and on-time project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Own procurement for electrical materials including switchgear, UPS, PDUs, generators, busway, cable, conduit, panels, and breakers
- Source and negotiate with major electrical distributors and OEMs to secure pricing, lead times, and equipment availability
- Partner with engineering, project management, and operations to meet technical specifications and project schedules
- Manage supplier performance, resolve delivery or quality issues, and drive continuous improvement
- Support long-lead and constrained equipment procurement through early manufacturer engagement
- Monitor market conditions, pricing trends, and supply chain risks
- Coordinate logistics, expediting, and inventory to support fast-paced construction and commissioning
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, contracts, and quality standards
Qualifications
- 2–7 years of procurement experience in electrical construction, mission-critical facilities, or large commercial projects
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Supply Chain Management
- Strong knowledge of medium- and low-voltage power distribution, backup power, and critical systems
- Experience working directly with electrical distributors and OEMs
- Ability to read electrical drawings and specifications
- Proven negotiation skills and experience with high-value procurement packages
- Experience in EPC, design-build, or electrical contractor environments
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain security clearance to be considered
