Buyer – Electrical Category

Locations: Atlanta, GA; Austin, TX; Charlotte, NC

 

We are seeking an experienced Buyer to manage procurement of electrical materials for mission-critical commercial projects, including data centers and critical infrastructure. This role focuses on sourcing, negotiating, and securing long-lead and high-reliability electrical equipment while ensuring technical compliance, cost control, and on-time project delivery.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Own procurement for electrical materials including switchgear, UPS, PDUs, generators, busway, cable, conduit, panels, and breakers
  • Source and negotiate with major electrical distributors and OEMs to secure pricing, lead times, and equipment availability
  • Partner with engineering, project management, and operations to meet technical specifications and project schedules
  • Manage supplier performance, resolve delivery or quality issues, and drive continuous improvement
  • Support long-lead and constrained equipment procurement through early manufacturer engagement
  • Monitor market conditions, pricing trends, and supply chain risks
  • Coordinate logistics, expediting, and inventory to support fast-paced construction and commissioning
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, contracts, and quality standards

 

Qualifications

  • 2–7 years of procurement experience in electrical construction, mission-critical facilities, or large commercial projects
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Supply Chain Management
  • Strong knowledge of medium- and low-voltage power distribution, backup power, and critical systems
  • Experience working directly with electrical distributors and OEMs
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and specifications
  • Proven negotiation skills and experience with high-value procurement packages
  • Experience in EPC, design-build, or electrical contractor environments
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain security clearance to be considered
