Position Overview

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial operations of a growing manufacturing organization. The CFO will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team and will be responsible for financial strategy, operational finance, mergers & acquisitions, ERP system implementation, and scalable process improvement initiatives across the organization. The ideal candidate brings deep manufacturing finance expertise, a proven track record executing M&A transactions and integrations, and experience leading enterprise-wide ERP implementations in complex operating environments.


Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead all financial functions including accounting, FP&A, treasury, tax, audit, and compliance.
  • Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with company growth objectives.
  • Provide financial analysis and strategic recommendations to the CEO, Board, and executive team.
  • Drive budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and KPI reporting.
  • Establish scalable financial controls, policies, and reporting processes.

Manufacturing & Operational Finance

  • Oversee cost accounting, inventory management, margin analysis, and operational performance metrics.
  • Partner with operations leadership to improve plant efficiency, labor utilization, throughput, and profitability.
  • Analyze production costs and implement initiatives to improve margins and operational performance.
  • Support capital expenditure planning and manufacturing expansion initiatives.

Mergers & Acquisitions

  • Lead financial due diligence, valuation analysis, and transaction execution for acquisitions and strategic investments.
  • Coordinate with external advisors, lenders, legal counsel, and internal stakeholders throughout the deal process.
  • Develop post-acquisition integration plans including financial reporting, systems integration, and operational alignment.
  • Identify and execute synergy opportunities across acquired businesses.

ERP Implementation & Systems Leadership

  • Lead enterprise ERP selection, implementation, optimization, and change management initiatives.
  • Partner with IT and operational leaders to improve system integration, reporting automation, and data accuracy.
  • Ensure ERP systems support manufacturing operations, inventory control, supply chain management, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives that improve visibility, scalability, and operational efficiency.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance and accounting organization.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Support succession planning and organizational development within the finance function.

Job Requirements

 

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including experience as a CFO, VP Finance, or senior finance executive within manufacturing.
  • Strong background in cost accounting and manufacturing operations finance.
  • Demonstrated experience leading M&A transactions, including due diligence and post-merger integration.
  • Proven success implementing or leading major ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Epicor, Infor, or NetSuite).
  • Experience working with private equity-backed, high-growth, or multi-site manufacturing organizations preferred.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls, financial reporting, and operational analytics.
