Chemical Laboratory Technician

Small and rapidly growing specialty chemical company is looking for an experienced Laboratory Technician to support R&D and Manufacturing.  If you have experience in a laboratory in a chemical manufacturing environment, this could be a great opportunity for you!  Company offers competitive pay; great opportunities for growth!

Primary responsibility is to work on the production floor to reach production goals, from preparing for a chemical synthesis to analyzing a material to package.  In addition, their laboratory experience makes them the first source of information for mentoring Junior Laboratory Technicians.  Specific duties:

• Synthesis and packaging of chemical compounds
• Monitor chemical processes by following SOP’s
• Maintain, clean, tear down, and build chemical synthesis and purification equipment
• Maintain production documentation and analyze results
• General lab and labware cleaning duties
• Complying with ISO requirements as it relates to training that the technician has completed
• General duties as required by upper management for function and efficiency of the company

Technical Qualifications:

• Comfortable working in a laboratory environment
• Knowledge of inorganic, and/or organometallic chemistry
• Synthetic chemistry lab experience
• Basic knowledge of major analytical techniques, including x-ray powder diffraction, nuclear magnetic resonance, IR spectroscopy, and gas chromatography
• Ability to perform titrations and thermogravimetric techniques
• Experience with process optimization and scale-up
