Chemist – Liquid Inks
A global ink manufacturer is looking for a liquid ink chemist! If you have a minimum of 5 years of experience formulations and performing data analysis in the following inks (Flexographic, Gravure, UV, or liquid), this could be a great opportunity for you. Duties:
- R+D of new and existing high performing liquid ink systems
- Flexographic, silkscreen, and gravure printing processes for a diverse array of applications and substrates
- Build new ink systems around the best available polymers, diluents, and additives
- Ink system formulations customized to accommodate unique security features that are not typical ink ingredients
- Collaborate with chemists and scientists locally and at other sites in researching, developing and adapting analytical techniques and methods in understanding and improving liquid inks systems
- Partner with engineering and manufacturing teams in efficiently / effectively transferring products from lab into production
- Perform accurate detailed data collection, analysis and reporting
- Manages responsibility of project documentation including experiments, analyses and results
- Creates specifications using statistical approaches, control limits, test methods, and standard products and address customer complaints
- An estimated travel of 10% may be required
- Lead root cause investigation for non-conforming products related to liquid inks
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment following all safety guidelines

Salary
$100,000 - $115,000
Job Requirements
Technical Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related scientific discipline (Chemistry, Chem. Eng., Material Science, etc.) with at least 5 years’ experience in liquid ink systems
- Strong understanding of each component of liquid ink formulations (and industry offerings), interfacial and surface chemistry
- Knowledge of security ink technologies a plus
- Knowledge of laboratory techniques, manufacturing equipment and processes for liquid inks
- Exceptional computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access). Knowledge of SAP a plus
