Job Description
Chemist
The responsibilities of the chemist include conducting research, analysis, synthesis, and experimentation on substances to assist in the development new products, new technology development, new manufacturing technology development and production improvement.
- Assist members of the special projects team to suggest, initiate or propose product designs which will meet the quality standards in the customer’s requirements and the process design to create the newly developed product
- Complete assigned special projects within original due dates, by clarifying problems, suggesting countermeasures, and managing the project timeline
- Working with the sales and business development team, gain the knowledge of the required properties and application of the projects, clearly define the value difference between new items and competitive items; calculate profitability of new item
- Working with leadership to plan and lead complex projects; understand all background information, clarify problems in the scientific process, suggest countermeasures, develop project timeline, and complete the project within the original timeframe
- Perform job responsibilities in compliance with Quality management system
- Through lab work, develop and suggest new product(s) which can meet the customer’s requirements. Performing, new raw material study(s) and creating new measurement method(s) may be required
- In the process design, assist in the development of the manufacturing process, optimize process conditions, and verify productivity
- Assist in the research of new developing items and gain an understanding of all the documentation requirements
- Develop and assist in preparing quality control documents (standards and specifications) and safety operation manual for the manufacturing / production process
- Issue technical reports based on project studies and present to customers

Job Requirements
Technical Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related field, plus a minimum of one to two (1-2) years’ experience or a master’s degree in chemistry or related major, plus a minimum of two plus (2+) years’ experience from four-year college or university
- Experience as a Chemist in a manufacturing company which focuses on polymer chemistry, adhesive chemistry, rubber material science or epoxy resin technology and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required
- Scientific basic knowledge: Basic Chemistry (Organic material, Inorganic material, polymer material). Preferred to have basic physics (polymer physics, Rheology, Phenomenology) Analytical Chemistry
- Requires a good understanding and being capable of operating needed test equipment for PST evaluations
- Ability to design, plan and execute experiments based upon scientific methods
- Detail oriented: well organized
- Strong verbal, written and presentation skills
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
