Job Description

Pay Rate: $60,000-$70,000 in base salary annually based on experience
Benefits available include medical, dental, vision, 401k, etc.
 
Established coatings manufacturer is seeking a Chemist to test and develop products for customers. Work on a wide variety of coatings and chemistries. Opportunities for increased responsibility within the organization.
 
  • Lead formulation efforts including raw material selection, sample preparation, application testing, and data analysis as defined by key stakeholders (Sales, Product Management, Operations)

  • Accurate documentation and effective communication of results, including the ability to problem solve and interpret findings to identify next steps.

  • Able to work directly with vendors to order samples and get raw material recommendations.

  • Communicate effectively with key stakeholders including the customer as needed for a project.

  • Proactively manage raw material alternative/consolidation projects

  • Oversee Quality Control for daily production (testing of physical properties and application performance).

Job Requirements

  • BS in a STEM field (chemistry, material science, or chemical engineering preferred), or equivalent relevant formulating experience.

  • 3+ years of coatings formulating experience with knowledge of 2K Urethane, and/or UV coating systems a plus.
