Colormatcher

The Color Matcher is responsible for mixing and testing samples for customers.  You will also test the application methods of mixed colors to ensure accuracy of the correct color and layer thickness for the Color Developers.  You will collaborate with advanced color experts and group leaders to develop colors in many stages.

Basic Responsibilities

• Interact with the Color Developers during Mixing & Application if the process is in question (wrong recipe amount, wrong spray program, toner info, hiding issues, right primer selection, etc.)
• Very good knowledge of preparation & application of samples following guidelines for all different products that are used within the department
• Ordering and storing, maintaining and calibrating Mixing & Application equipment
• Ordering and storing, maintaining stock database with batch information, shelf life checks, toner quality control, refilling from gallons into liter cans
• Ordering non-paint material for the whole team
• Follow 5’s and safety rules. Ensures a safe and clean work environment
• Participate in continuous improvement of department knowledge and efficiency

Advanced Responsibilities

• Learns to develop all types of colors (solids, effects, 3-coats) and work according to set priorities
• Can work with all color FD related software tools. Ensures they’re calibrated and operated correctly
• Approve above mentioned color types by himself and for others of the same level
• Knows all processes and follows the guidelines for formula development
• Works closely together with other R&D teams (product development, solutions, applications) to come to the required results for the customers

Technical Qualifications

• High School Diploma with 3-4 years relevant work experience

Preferred Requirements

• Color development experience a plus
• Chemical background is a plus
• Color software experience is a plus
• Continuous improvement experience is a plus
• Attention to detail, proactive, hands-on positive mentality with a strong drive for ownership and responsibility
• Able to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and deadlines
• Good math calculation and MS Office skills (Word, Excel)
