Composite Materials Chemist

High value custom manufacturer is seeking a Materials Chemist with experience in fiber reinforced composites, UV curables, thermoset materials development. Formulations, a little synthesis, and materials processing! Exciting technology and projects. Business is great, and this position is a great way to start your career if you’ve just finished your MS or PhD in Chemistry or Polymer related Science!
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with business team identifying and turning customer needs into growth opportunities and proactively assist product development and completion
- Design and execute experiments and tests as to satisfy or support the needs of internal and external customers in material sciences and related markets
- The key project will include synthesis, formulation, performance testing, test method development, and property characterization
- Ensure lab raw material and equipment are in stock, and capabilities function properly
- Maintain accurate records of data and information relevant to products and prepare documents such as technical data sheets to support the introduction and commercialization of products
- Comply with regulations for lab safety and sustainable business growth
- Ensure technical service support and respective application testing is executed for key customers within approved time, performance, and financial requirements

Job Requirements
Technical Qualifications:
BS with 5 years, or MS/PhD Chemistry Fresh Grad with training or direct experience formulating epoxy composites or a UV curable background. Synthesis experience in thermosets would be a plus to be able to work with raw material suppliers. Small company environment. Must enjoy working with customers, and comfortable at the bench, and assisting in toll manufacturing procedures. 3D printing resins experience is a plus.
