Corporate Quality Specialist

The Corporate Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for fostering a culture of quality excellence.  In addition, this person oversees the internal milk and cream quality as well as vendor/shipper practices.  This person will support Quality Systems Scientists and SQF practitioners to ensure quality business processes are effective and sustainable.

  • Key oversight of milk and cream quality from both suppliers and internal processing controls
  • Supplier Approval Program
  • Drive adherence to ingredient and packaging specifications by following SPC principles using the current tools for real-time data visualization
  • Provides technical support and/or data analysis to drive resolution to issues relative to quality and/or food safety
  • Take part in cross-functional teams to assist plants in effective implementation of food safety and quality initiatives and processes
  • Lead change management for material lot qualification through artwork approval and other business processes
  • Determine proper corrective actions from consumer concerns and maintain the complaint investigation approval process
  • Food Service complaint follow-up with the plants
  • Support and participate in plant problem solving efforts utilizing new and established corrective action processes
  • Knowledge of GFSI Benchmarked Schemes (namely SQF)
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures, such as GMPs, Sanitation, Pest Control, Food Safety and HACCP systems, Training, Allergens, Operations, and other applicable programs / regulations
  • Work with the Technical Services team on implementing SQF best practices
  • Special projects, as requested

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Dairy Science or related discipline is required
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience is required
  • Data analysis and statistical process control experience is required
  • Experience working with state health departments and third-party auditors
  • High analytical aptitude
  • Proficient in mathematics and statistics
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Detail-oriented
  • Resourceful
  • Works independently
  • Results oriented and highly customer (internal plant) focused
  • Effective interpersonal communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills
