Job Description
EHS Specialist – Multisite
My client is innovative and growing their EHS team. Do you have a passion for safety training and building safety cultures? This opportunity will report to the Senior EHS Manager and have oversite of Corporate and Warehouse safety. You will play a vital role in promoting and ensuring a safe work environment for our employees throughout our Corporate Office and Distribution facilities. Position will have approximately 25-50% travel.
Responsibilities:
- Policy Development and Implementation: Assist in crafting and executing EHS policies and programs compliant with local, state, and federal regulations
- Safety Culture Enhancement: Promote a culture of proactive safety through continuous improvement and proactive measures
- Assessments and Audits: Regularly evaluate distribution facilities, equipment, and work areas to identify potential hazards
- Guidance and Support: Offer EHS-related guidance to employees and management, addressing manufacturing-specific risks
- Incident Investigations: Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions tailored to manufacturing operations
- Training Programs: Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees
- Behavior-Based Safety Program: Lead the SafeStart initiative, engaging employees in proactive risk identification and mitigation
- Safety Software Management: Own and manage the Velocity EHS platform, utilizing it to enhance safety efforts, streamline processes, and drive continuous improvement
- Project Management: Oversee the initiation, planning, execution, and monitoring of various EHS initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives
- Industry Knowledge: Stay abreast of safety best practices and technological advancements to enhance safety efforts
- VPP Utilization: Employ VPP principles and strategies to bolster safety programs within manufacturing facilities

Job Requirements
Education and Experience:
- 2-5 years of experience working in the Environmental, Health and Safety field with a degree OR 5+ years of experience working in the Environmental, Health and Safety field without a degree
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and standards applicable to manufacturing operations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with manufacturing employees and management
