Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator
This is a growing organization that is looking for an EHS Coordinator to join their team.
The EHS Coordinator is responsible for inspecting, identifying, and maintaining various environmental aspects throughout the company. It is imperative that the EHS Coordinator maintain accurate and up-to-date environmental reports, as well as a constant dedication to continuous H&S improvements and implementation of preventative measures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect and evaluate the environment, equipment, and processes in working areas of all company facilities to ensure compliance with government safety regulations and industry standards
- Identify potentially hazardous biological, chemical and radiological materials and collect samples if needed for analysis
- In charge of all regulatory reporting that is required for compliance (i.e.,EPA,OSHA, etc.)
- Maintain all environmental reports, permits and recordkeeping requirements to operate the facility and on-site equipment
- Recommend changes to protect workers and educate employees on how to prevent health problems using safety training programs
- Investigate and report accidents to identify their causes and find ways to prevent them in the future. Report findings to management on what caused the injury and make suggestions on how it could be prevented. If the injury was caused due to an unsafe action, the Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator is the one responsible to schedule a retraining session for the employees who were involved in the incident so that proper safety procedures can be adjusted
- Create, review, and implement all health and safety programs in the company
- Be the main source of knowledge and contact for Safety Data Sheets (SDS) related questions. This is to include creation or modification of SDS for new or existing products
- Conduct annual and ongoing training regarding safety for all employees in the company to ensure compliance and to exceed EHS goals

Job Requirements
Technical Qualifications:
Education:
Minimum Required: Associate degree in occupational health, safety, or a related scientific field, such as chemistry, industrial hygiene or engineering
Preferred: ISO 45001 / 14001
Experience:
Minimum Required: 1 year experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment recommended
Preferred: 2+ years’ experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment recommended
Job Specific Skills:
Minimum Required: Tier I / Form R / GHS
Adapt problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate a wide scope of information with little to no confusion (Communication skills)
Preferred: 490CFR / IATA / IMDG
Travel:
Travel may be required
