Industrial Hygienist, Corporate

Newly created corporate industrial hygiene role for industry leading, global materials organization!

This role is responsible for leading the implementation, coordination, and sustainment of programs and championing initiatives to ensure compliance with regulations.  This role will also be responsible for the activities in the USA and Europe as well as support of the Asia programs compliance and the company’s best practice guidelines.  This is a corporate role that will also be responsible for maintaining and continuously improving environmental, health, and safety management systems.

Essential Functions:

  • Determines sampling strategy and conducts workplace monitoring to meet regulatory requirements / company guidance, to help ensure company’s employees work in a safe environment. Annual IH surveys to be conducted at all US and EU locations directly by this position.  Includes equipment management, lab coordination, report writing and employee notifications
  • Maintains relevant database systems including IH database, incident database (EtQ Reliance), Excel incident tracking etc.
  • Develops health and safety procedures and programs in accordance with local requirements
  • Assists in compliance reviews, general risk assessments, and other safety assessments with determination of effective controls and risk mitigation in support of environmental, health and safety management
  • Participates in detailed incident investigation teams to determine root cause, corrective, and preventative actions
  • Partners with site EH&S leaders to establish and implement local Industrial Hygiene programs, ergonomic, injury case management and return to work programs
  • Partners with site and functional leadership to develop a culture that identifies health and with environmental, health and safety management systems

Job Requirements

Technical Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field. May consider equivalent work experience in lieu of degree
  • 6+ years of EH&S experience including leadership experience
  • 3+ years of experience in Industrial Hygiene or a related field
  • Knowledge of OSHA, NIOSH, ANSI and ACGIH standards
  • Certification by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene as a Certified Industrial Hygienist may substitute for the required education and experience
  • Experience with data analysis and computer programs
