Job Description

Base salary $130,000-$180,000

Role is remote with travel (50-75%)

This is a high-visibility, customer-facing technical role where you’ll own projects, solve real-world formulation challenges, and work closely with R&D and commercial teams to drive impact across diverse industrial markets.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary technical contact for customer R&D, production, and technical teams, providing hands-on support and resolving complex formulation and application challenges
  • Lead and manage a pipeline of technical opportunities, driving customer projects from concept through implementation and commercialization
  • Build and maintain strong technical relationships with customers through regular on-site engagement and proactive support
  • Collaborate with internal R&D teams to identify gaps, modify existing products, and support new product development based on customer needs
  • Partner with commercial and marketing teams to develop technical value propositions, application data, and tools that support business growth
  • Create and deliver technical training, presentations, and sales enablement materials to support internal and external stakeholders
  • Translate technical capabilities into clear business value, supporting adoption of products and solutions in the market
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, raw material changes, and regulatory developments to inform strategy and positioning
  • Coordinate with cross-functional global and regional teams to deliver tailored solutions and ensure successful project execution
  • Strengthen market presence by positioning solutions effectively within key industrial segments and application

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related scientific discipline (MS/PhD preferred)
  • 8–10+ years of hands-on experience in formulation, application development, and technical service
  • Strong background in emulsification, dispersing, defoaming, and rheology modification
  • Experience working with surfactants, water-soluble polymers, chelates, and acid-based catalysts
  • Industry experience across one or more of the following: emulsion polymer latex, aqueous coatings, pulp & paper, textile, water treatment, chemical processing, or related industrial markets
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and solve complex technical challenges across multiple applications
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused mindset
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to translate technical performance into customer value
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently (approximately 50–75%)
  • Must be located within reasonable proximity to the East Coast or adjacent regions
