Manager of Regulatory, New Products, and Sensory

The Manager of Regulatory, New Products, and Sensory will lead the quality functions responsible for providing guidance across label creation and approval, formulation review, ingredient specification review, and customer technical requirements, to ensure compliance with company policies and external regulations.

Job Duties:

  • Lead the regulatory specialists and technicians in Nutrition Fact Panel generation and label content review and approval processes
  • Responsible for providing guidance on reviewing, interpreting, and evaluating food products and labels to ensure compliance with food regulations
  • Responsible for proactively bringing emerging regulatory issues to the organization and leading mitigation and execution plans to address
  • Provide regulatory guidance and be well versed in compliance-related questions regarding customer and internal inquiries
  • Lead the maintenance and continuous improvement of internal systems and databases to retain documents, ingredients, products, and labeling requirements for all of company
  • Provides subject matter expertise to all customer and R&D inquiring on regulations, labeling, and special agencies such as Kosher, Organic, and Non-GMO certification
  • Lead the New Product Development Quality team on the execution of the product development process from early stage ideation through commercialization. Provide guidance on formulation development to ensure food safety and regulatory requirements are met
  • Lead the Sensory technical team responsible for partnering with R&D, Sales, and Marketing to initiate test designs, execute customer and R&D required testing, and report findings
  • Provide guidance for organizational sensory science training for cross functional team, executed by Sensory Specialist and Technicians
  • Lead partnerships with external expertise of sensory staff
  • Provides leadership in coaching, education, and development of sensory staff. Responsible for performance management process and KPI deliverables

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or related discipline with 10+ years of Food Industry experience
  • Prior experience in Regulatory leadership role required
  • Prior experience in Product Development support and Sensory strongly desired
  • Minimum 3-5 years people management experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience on US Food Regulations
  • Travel <25%
