Marine Composite / Gel Coat – Florida Tech Service Rep

Bring your knowledge of Gel Coat and Marine Composite Materials to this exciting work from home role with a raw material supplier to the Marine Industry.  Hands-on troubleshooting of Marine composite manufacturing and gel coat applications, formulations, processing and solve technical issues for the customers.  Travel with Sales and cover the Florida market.  Great Benefits!

Primary Accountabilities / Functions:

  • Assure a safe work environment with no lost time accidents
  • Primary responsibility is to support customers as needed to enable and promote use of company products
  • Conduct customer visits with objectives such as audits, troubleshooting, product trials, and training. This is frequently done on an individual basis but can be done in combination with company Composites sales representatives or distributor sales representatives
  • Assist sales as needed for development and maintenance of business in assigned geographies and/or customers
  • Assist sales in representing product line to customers and business partners and making product recommendations
  • Be able to collaborate with customers to define technical requirements for products and communicate these requirements to Sales, R&D or other functions as needed
  • Assemble, interpret, and communicate test results (including direct presentation) to customers
  • Conduct product testing, benchmarking, and evaluation of new product developed in the lab
  • Communicate with sales & customer service regarding customer requests, concerns and questions
  • Provide customer support via phone and email including resolution of customer concerns as well as other questions and problems

Job Requirements

Technical Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a BS in Chemistry or related science or 5+ years’ experience in end use field and demonstrated proficiency
  • Background in composites part manufacture, gel coat/resin formulation, or composites testing preferred
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills with a proactive work ethic
  • Spanish fluency preferred
  • Travel approximately 60% of time to customers
  • Excellent teamwork
  • Strong planning and organization skills
  • Functional knowledge of composites formulation and different processing techniques
  • Ability to conduct hands-on demonstrations of products / processes
  • Working knowledge of scientific problem-solving techniques desired, such as DOE, DFSS, etc.
  • Knowledge of product line and product use or application as listed in technical function requirements
  • Good customer relations ability; understanding of customer needs; understanding of customer technical and business processes
  • Working knowledge of the Hazardous Communications Standard (OSHA CFR 1910.1200) and a working knowledge of Lab Standard (OSHA CFR 1910.1450)
