Job Description

Our client is a manufacturer of specialty engineering materials used in multiple different industries. They currently seek an Operations Manager for their plant just outside of Florence, SC.

The ideal candidate should enjoy being out in the plant and getting involved in the technical aspects of the process like assisting with troubleshooting when needed. This person should be a strong leader that enjoys developing their team and mentoring young engineers. This position has promotional potential.

As an Operations Manager job duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Plan, organize & direct the Manufacturing department
  • Work with team leaders to develop/implement plans to efficiently use materials, labor & equipment to meet production targets
  • Organize/facilitate as needed production shutdown/start-up for maintenance purposes
  • Achieve project or dept. objectives within agreed time, cost, & quality parameters
  • Identify/resolve safety concerns or issues, including accident/incident reporting, investigation & resolution

Salary: Up to $135,000/year + 15% annual bonus

Job Requirements

As an Operations Manager job requirements consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

  • BS in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineer, or other relevant science degree 
  • 5 years of experience in manufacturing with at least 2 years of supervision experience 
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, chemicals ideal with pulp/paper a second choice  
  • Previous experience in a PSM environment 
  • Strong background of improving plant operations
