Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position leads the production department and their efforts in the safe and cost-effective operation of the facility.                                                                                                    Will be responsible for facilitating, directing and controlling, as appropriate, all aspects of the production operation to ensure achievement of company goals and objectives.                                                                      Ensures that the plant is operating in compliance with all regulatory and company policies, procedures and regulations.


  • Plan, organize and direct the Production Manufacturing department
  • Actively work to develop personnel, to maintain a positive working environment, to resolve personnel conflicts, and to serve as sounding board for others. Responsible for employee development through growth, performance feedback, communication, skills enhancement, and coaching
  • Provide full cycle performance management support for direct reports
  • Work with team leaders to develop and implement plans to efficiently use materials, labor and equipment to meet production targets
  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolve equipment and operating problems. Generate ideas, plans to enhance the performance of the surfaces manufacturing unit, e.g., process, rate, yields and quality improvement through lean manufacturing and six sigma concepts
  • Organize and facilitate as needed production shutdown/start-up for maintenance purposes
  • Achieve project or departmental objectives within agreed time, cost, & quality parameters
  • Identify and resolve safety concerns or issues, including accident/incident reporting, investigation and resolution.
  • Ensure that manufacturing team members are responsible for their safety, the safety of their team members and the quality of our production
  • Communicate with internal and external customers to ensure project plans and work in progress will meet desired outcomes 




  • B.S., Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineer or related field
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with minimum 2 years of direct management experience
  • Open on industry experience – any experience in chemicals, paper manufacturing processes, coating processes would be advantages
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational, motivational and communication skills
  • Ability to develop, plan forecast and execute operating budgets
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Possess high professional ethics, dependability, good judgment & ability to take decisive action
