Process Improvement / Research and Development Specialist

The Process Improvement / Research and Development Specialist will have the following responsibilities:

  • All internal process improvement projects
  • Identify process improvement opportunities, propose solutions and testing parameters, execute testing and report findings
  • Implement new process improvement procedures
  • Manage special projects as identified by production and research and development
  • Will work closely with operations management to facilitate expansion opportunities

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of meat processing equipment and facilities, thermodynamics and statistics – Minimum of 3 years in meat processing facilities with hands-on experience (preferably in Ready-to-Eat facility)
  • Requires a college degree in animal, meat or food science (emphasis / course work in Meat Science required) – Master’s degree a plus
  • Familiarity with product development process from ideation through product roll out
  • Proactive problem solver
  • Project management skills
  • Willing and able to work long hours when needed to meet the requirements of the R&D Department
  • Focused on improving efficiencies throughout the plant
  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels of production and management
  • Must be able to multi-task working on multiple items at any time
  • Bilingual is a plus (English/Spanish)
