Protein Ingredient Development Scientist

Our client is currently seeking an individual who will work across all of their business units and product lines to support their protein ingredient process development team, food processing pilot production facilities teams and oversee research sanitation for both food ingredient development and food processing areas.

  • This individual will be responsible for training and advising researchers on the proper operation, maintenance and sanitation of both food ingredient process development equipment and food & beverage processing equipment
  • Will also entail working closely with the ingredient process development and food & beverage application teams
  • This would include both lecture and hands-on laboratory training
  • Individual will be responsible for working closely with both external and internal customers on proper food & beverage product manufacturing and must have the ability to trouble shooting these processes
  • Must be willing to travel approximately 20% of the time

Requirements:

  • BS or MS degree in Food Processing, Food Science, Food Engineering or related field of study
  • 10+ years of food and/or beverage production experience either in manufacturing facilities or equivalent research pilot plant manufacturing experience
  • This individual should have a detailed understanding of food processing & sanitation as well as experience in food product formulation
  • Must have a solid understanding of food processing equipment that includes the operation, maintenance and proper sanitation of such equipment
  • Must be able to work independently as well as a member of cross-functional teams on research projects involving protein ingredient development and food process manufacturing in such areas as UHT processing, dairy product processing or similar experience
  • Must have worked at food processing manufacturing plant
  • Must have complete knowledge of running equipment
  • A knowledge and understanding of food plant sanitation and food safety is a must
  • Very collaborative
