QA Supervisor, Food Manufacturing

The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for leading our staff of QA technicians and helping grow our Food Safety Culture as the plant grows.  This role will help drive operational improvements in food safety and quality by ensuring plant GMPs are followed, verifying CCPs are monitored correctly, and maintaining the company’s SQF program by encouraging best practices on the plant floor.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe working environment for all team members and visitors
  • Maintain high food safety and quality standards in accordance with company SQF and HACCP programs
  • Conduct regular facility GMP audits; report findings and corrective actions
  • Assist QA team with finished goods inspections, as needed
  • Verify QA and Operations records are complete and accurate
  • Assist in execution of internal audits
  • Ensure the plant is audit ready (SQF, Organic, FDA, and customer audits)
  • Participate in regular Food Safety Team meetings
  • Support training and motivation of team members within your department
  • Maximize productivity and quality; minimize waste
  • Ensure Team Members comply with company policy in regards to rest and meal breaks, hygiene, sanitation, food safety, and other work related policies

Job Requirements

Technical Qualifications:

  • BS of Science or degree with experience
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • 3+ years of experience in a food manufacturing facility
  • Previous experience managing a team preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Ability to become HACCP certified and SQF Practitioner certified
  • Ability to handle frequent interruptions, meet tight deadlines, prioritize tasks, work with minimal direction and handle conflict in a positive manner
  • Ability to work with multiple departments including engineering, operations, safety, quality assurance, logistics, and finance & accounting
  • Ability to use a computer and tablet
  • Must speak, read and write English
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) strongly preferred
