QC Chemist

The QC Chemist will have the following responsibilities:

  • Responsible for polyurethane QC functions. Analysis of materials and final products according to spec
  • Limited formulation, and material development and qualification for the New Product Development team
  • Conduct experiments to reformulate improvements to existing products and increase quality
  • Troubleshoot customer issues
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative chemical analysis and physical property testing of ingredients, materials and products and coordinates with external laboratories as needed
  • Produce concise, meaningful and complete reports to maintain proper communications
  • Utilize Six Sigma and Lean tools in support of production and projects
  • This is a regular first shift role

Requirements:

  • BS in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
  • 2-3 years of polyurethane chemistry experience
  • Formulation, characterization, analysis (coatings, adhesives, sealants, and elastomers)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; detail oriented
  • Strong analytical skills, highly motivated and quick learner
  • Self-motivated and results oriented; initiates and drives value added projects to successful completion
  • Ability to work on several projects simultaneously
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
