QC Technologist
The primary focus of this position is the analysis of raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods, using sensory, physical, and analytical testing methods to ensure that the products meet the necessary standards, specifications, and safety regulations. This position offers an opportunity to learn and participate in all aspects of the flavor industry.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analysis of production batches of flavor. Organoleptic evaluation and the preparation of designated testing on batches of flavor to ensure quality and safety. Locate and store QA retailed referenced samples
- Description of aspect and measurement of specific gravity for inclusion on specifications for flavors
- Preparation and submission of pre-shipment samples to customers, as required
- Flavor test results filing – sensory, microbiological, additional designated tests and production records
- Submission of samples to 3rd party accredited laboratories and monitoring of all results
- GMP with respect to working environment in laboratory
- Sample retention for QA purpose and transfer of excess quantity flavor to Sample Laboratory, Comprehensive labeling of samples to include classification and allergenic information, as appropriate
- Members of the Taste Panel for the sensory testing of raw materials and finished products
- Raw material sample collection and testing
- Evaluation of alternative and secondary supply of raw materials. Set up taste panel with Flavor Chemists. Co-ordinate receipt of documentation with Regulatory and Compliance Team

Job Requirements
Technical Qualifications:
- 2 years of relevant experience working in the food and beverage industry. Work in the flavor industry is preferred, but not necessary
- BS in food science, chemistry, or related field
- Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented setting
- Broad understanding of food/flavor processing and commercial insight is a plus
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time. Ability to withstand various odors and smells. Light to medium lifting may occasionally be required
