Quality Control Manager – Gel Coat

Currently have an opening for a Quality Control Gel Coating Manager at their manufacturing facility.  Manage the activities and personnel in the manufacturing area which relate and contribute to high quality products for their customers.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops uniform best practices quality standards for the site gel coat Quality Control staff that ensure products meet customer requirements
  • Supervises workers engaged in testing, inspection, and correction activities to ensure exceptional quality and high levels of productivity
  • Responsible for leading team problem solving activities using proven problem-solving methodologies with data to resolve customer complaints and internal production issues
  • Participates in corporate / site continuous improvement programs
  • New product development liaison between manufacturing plant and R&D team
  • Coordinates plant materials review board activities for gel coat area
  • Works with plant teams to poke yoke production processes
  • Creates, documents, trains, and implement training, process, and inspection procedures
  • Responsible for lab testing equipment including calibration, repairs, and MSA studies
  • Responsible for ISO and other agency audits relating to product conformance

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s in chemistry or related field or equivalent
  • 3-5 years previous experience in quality control management
  • 3-5 years manufacturing experience in a reactive chemical plant environment or related, resin experience preferred
  • Familiarity of ISO programs, SPC, SQC, Root Cause analysis (Six Sigma tools)
  • Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing setting
  • Must have very good organizational, written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to identify and distinguish colors
  • Familiarity of ISO programs
