Quality Manager

  • Responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and managing Quality Assurance processes, procedures, and documentation associated with the preparation, mixing, filling, packaging, storage, and shipping of all products
  • Provides strategic QA guidance internally and to customers, suppliers, and co-manufacturers to ensure the quality and compliance of company’s products
  • Investigates material complaints through the evaluation of documentation, interviews with associated team members or suppliers, third party research, the review of physical samples, and root cause analysis
  • Drives the Quality Systems that provide the framework for all manufacturing and logistics activities
  • Serves as the SQF Practitioner and FSMA Compliance Coordinator for company
  • Selects, develops, trains, oversees, and manages Quality Systems Specialist and QC Technicians
  • Manages Food Safety and Food Defense programs
  • Manages Internal Audit program and ensures that appropriate staff training is completed
  • Manages Customer Complaint program to ensure timely and appropriate response
  • Manages Regulatory Operations, including labeling requirements
  • Manages Environmental Monitoring program to ensure facility cleanliness
  • Continue to focus on producing quality products in an efficient, effective manner
  • Maintain a clean & organized work space
  • Report food safety and quality issues to personnel with authority to initiate action if actions cannot be accomplished by same

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field
  • Ten or more years in QA experience with five or more years in QA management experience within consumer products, specifically beverage, food or other clean manufacturing
  • Experience in SQF, GMP, Food Safety and Food Defense, Food Sanitation and Hygiene, Food Microbiology, HACCP/HARPC, SQF Practitioner, FSMA PCQI, Root Cause Analysis, Organic (USDA) requirements, Kosher requirements, Employee Management, Documentation and Document Control, CAPA, FDA and other Regulatory Requirements, Calibration, Training, Internal Auditing, Third Party Audit Management, Continuous Improvement, Pest Control
  • Excellent communication skills, highly collaborative, strong people leadership skills
