Quality Supervisor

The Quality Supervisor will have the following responsibilities:

  • Manage the QC lab and oversee one QC person working first shift alongside them
  • Mechanical testing of raw materials and finished product
  • Leads the development and implementation of a quality plan to drive continuous improvement in plant performance
  • Develops and manages quality assurance metrics to measure opportunities for improvement, progress on goals and accountability for performance
  • Identifies, troubleshoots and drives resolution of production quality deficiencies and problems
  • Works in conjunction with the Process Engineer to reduce variation and eliminate waste in all plant processes
  • Monitors quality impact of new production processes, methods or equipment
  • Manages and audits the planning and execution of daily lab quality assurance testing and production quality testing
  • Monitors vendor compliance to quality standards
  • Designs, manages and controls documentation and report procedures as well as the communication of progress results to plant Key Performance Indicators in the area of Quality
  • Reviews customer claims identifying root causes and leads the development and implementation of corrective action plans in conjunction with the process engineer and the Operations team

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific discipline such as Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, etc.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a heavy industrial process manufacturing environment in a quality assurance role with hands-on experience with quality management systems
  • Experience in statistical process control, process optimization and continuous improvement including experience with Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing preferred
  • Type A personality as they will manage the QC lab and oversee one QC person. They will also have to communicate effectively with plant operators and corporate managers
  • Strong leadership skills as this person will manage the QC lab and oversee one QC person. They will also have to communicate effectively with plant operators and corporate managers
  • Hands-on person as they will work in the lab and not behind a desk
