*Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (Food Science, Chemistry, Biology), MBA a plus
*5 years of direct sales or technical sales experience with focus in the food and beverage industry
*Experience in technical service with a recognized ingredient company, as well as major account responsibility, is desired
*Proven track record managing and penetrating accounts and delivering results
*Willing to travel up to 80% of the time
*Must possess strong negotiation skills
*Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or technical procedures
*Ability to write reports and business correspondence, and to effectively present information and respond to questions from all levels of the customer’s organization and with company’s management and departments
*Frequent contact in the field with the customers resolving their problems, creating and presenting various types of presentations, negotiating pricing and contracts as well as providing solutions and product recommendations
*Strong computer skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Salesforce.com or other CRM experience a strong plus
*Must be able to travel up to 80%
- BS in Food Science, Animal Science or related
- USDA experience a plus
