R&D Manager, Catalyst Development
Mid-sized specialty chemical company is looking for an experienced chemist with strong leadership skills and expertise in taking the needs and wants directly from the customer and turning them into new products. This is a newly created position to grow product lines and provide strategic direction in an R&D setting. Company offers excellent benefits with competitive pay; great opportunities for growth!
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead technical implementation of segment-specific innovation strategies and prioritize and deploy resources to key initiatives in alignment with Technology Leadership, Product Management, and Commercial stakeholders
- Champion a safety-first culture by driving EHS best practices throughout the organization and facility and create initiatives that reinforce best safety practices, habits, and behaviors
- Ensure that intellectual property is protected through proper documentation and patent filing
- Launch products, provide field support, and participate in meetings which may necessitate some travel and overnight stays
- Expand the reach of our derived products in current and adjacent markets, in addition to delivering growth in new market segments and lead lab testing capability development to enable this growth

Job Requirements
Technical Qualifications:
- PhD or MS in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering preferred. Bachelor’s degree required
- At least 7-plus years of progressive experience within industrial product development of technical service
- At least 3-plus years people leadership experience with a team of 2 or more employees
- Understanding of product development processes and applications in the indoor air, emission reduction, and catalyst coatings industries
