Regulatory Compliance Specialist

The Regulatory Compliance Specialist is accountable for the oversight, planning and hands on management of registration submissions to meet filing deadlines at the state level.  This position will focus on state fertilizer registrations. 

  • Register and renew state registrations of fertilizer products including daily tracking of California state fertilizer registrations
  • Ability to work in a cross functional team to collect registration support documents such as Heavy Metal analysis, Certificate of Analysis, labels and SDS
  • Ensure Registration documents are accurate and error-free
  • Ensure payment and documents are provided on time: track credit card & check spending
  • Complete monthly, quarterly and annual state tonnage reports using sales data from accounting department
  • Manage all fertilizer compliance paperwork for record keeping purposes
  • Support the Marketing department to ensure all our external websites are compliant
  • Manage the manufacturer approvals of assigned products in AGRIAN, CDMS, etc.
  • Draft standard operating procedures for each state for registration process
  • Maintain company Fertilizer state registrations, renewals, Business licenses and all required and pertinent documents on company Regulatory Compliance SharePoint site
  • Provide support for the label review and validation process for Fertilizer products
  • Provide support if needed for international product registration
  • Provide support, if needed, for organic product registration
  • Other administrative duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Technical Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biology or other science required
  • 3+ years of experience dealing with regulated material, regulatory agencies and/or compliance
  • Microsoft Office Suite experience required. SharePoint or other document housing software experience strongly preferred
  • Adobe inDesign experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively (both oral and written) including strong interpersonal and analytical communications
  • Consistently meet commitment, deadlines and goals
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to research and apply that research to assigned tasks
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, industry best practices and current trends in the field
  • Ability to learn quickly with minimal training
