Research and Development Chemist

Small privately owned company looking for abrasive/surfactant formulation chemist to join their team!  If you have experience in formulating surfactants, this could be a great opportunity for you!  Our client offers excellent benefits and potential growth opportunities.

Duties:

• Responsible for helping to design experiments and running subsequent milling, formulating, and polishing tests
• Keeping detailed documentation of the findings
• Maintain the laboratory and develop a maintenance schedule for the R&D equipment
• Assist with the scale-up and commercialization of said products
• Research and development efforts to design novel alumina abrasives products, including powder and slurry formulations
• Technical support-may travel to customers

Technical Qualifications:

• BS in chemistry, material science, or related
• 2-5 years of experience formulating with surfactants or ceramic coatings
• Experience performing testing such as particle size, surface quality, etc.
• Running designed experiments
• Various types of polishing and lapping equipment
