Job Description
Researcher II
Develop, prepare, execute and analyze research elements (e.g., problems, questions, ideas) in new film products and to develop new and improved existing coating formulation and film casting methodology, in line with the R&D strategy, project and R&D functional standards, in order to gain insight into new developments and contribute to the realization of strategic objectives
- Delivering results on time for longer time projects, ensuring quality and feasibility, according to business needs
- Correct use of methodologies, tools and systems
- Functional guidance of junior chemists / technicians
- Identifies new technologies / process optimization and technical solutions and new application opportunities for coatings and paints and shares these with other professionals
- Maintains and promotes a safe work environment, complies with safety policies and procedures. Follows safe work practices for personal and equipment safety, in both the laboratory and in the field. End results are zero or minimum safety incidents and a clean, orderly working environment
- Sets-up, plans, executes, analyses, interprets and reports experiments within own unit
- Keeps current on uses and improves relevant research methods in the field, ensures retention of knowledge through research reports
- Participates in projects and ensures execution and delivery of technical results
- Formulas and presents solution directions and issues advice at request or at own initiative

Job Requirements
Technical Qualifications:
- PhD in chemistry / chemical technology with 3 years of experience
- Master’s Degree in chemistry / chemical technology and 5 years of experiences or
- Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry / chemical technology and 10 years of experience
- Experience in the R&D environment of roll-to-roll coasting is required
- In depth knowledge and hands-on experience in coating formulation and applications is required
- Sound knowledge in polymer science and organic chemistry is required
- In depth knowledge and experience in coating film testing, analysis and characterization is required
Additional Preferred Experience:
- Prior experience in project management and Stage Gate process is a plus
- Knowledge and experience in roll-to-roll coating technology and process is a plus
- Familiar with various film fabricators and applications in the automotive industry is a plus
- Knowledge and experience in polymer analysis and characterization is a plus
- Project proposals
- Preparation of the research plans
- Design and the execution of the projects
- Preparation of the stage gate reviews
- Testing and analysis of the results
- Structure / property analysis
- Proven ability to take initiative and to perform duties in a self-directed manner
- Team player
- Excellent verbal and writing skills
