Job Description

RETIREMENT PLAN COMPLIANCE / OPERATIONS MANAGER

 In search of an accomplished and forward-thinking Retirement Plan Compliance Manager with over 10 years of experience and ASPPA designations. The ideal candidate will bring a collaborative and visionary approach to managing retirement plan compliance, demonstrating expertise in the recently enacted Secure Act 2.0 and a proven ability to implement process improvements. This position is not just about managing compliance; it's about shaping the future, fostering collaboration, and developing the next generation of leaders within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership: Provide visionary leadership in the realm of retirement plan compliance, aligning strategies with the organization's goals and ensuring compliance with the latest regulatory changes, including Secure Act 2.0.
  2. Collaborative Approach: Foster a collaborative environment by working closely with cross-functional teams, including legal, finance, and human resources. Build strong relationships to ensure a holistic and integrated approach to compliance management.
  3. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements within the compliance framework. Implement streamlined and efficient processes to optimize compliance efforts and reduce risks.
  4. Knowledge of Secure Act 2.0: Stay abreast of the latest developments in retirement plan legislation, with a specific focus on understanding and implementing the provisions of Secure Act 2.0.
  5. Talent Development: Actively contribute to the growth and development of the compliance team. Mentor and guide team members to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  6. Succession Planning: Develop and implement strategies for succession planning within the compliance function. Identify and nurture talent to ensure the seamless transition of leadership roles.
  7. Client Engagement: Engage with clients to understand their unique compliance needs and provide strategic advice. Build and maintain strong client relationships based on trust and expertise.
  8. Reporting and Analytics: Utilize data and analytics to monitor compliance metrics and generate insights. Prepare comprehensive reports for leadership and stakeholders.

Base salary: $150,000 - $215,000 + Annual Bonus

Job Requirements

RETIREMENT PLAN COMPLIANCE / OPERATIONS MANAGER

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
  • ASPPA designations such as QKA (Qualified 401(k) Administrator) and QPA (Qualified Pension Administrator) required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in retirement plan compliance or operations management.
  • Thorough understanding of Secure Act 2.0 and its implications on retirement plan compliance.
  • Proven track record of implementing process improvements and driving strategic initiatives.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Visionary mindset with the ability to anticipate and adapt to changes in the regulatory landscape.
  • Strong desire to grow, as company grows, and develop future leaders.
