Sales Manager

(Wisconsin based Sales Manager for East Coast / New England accounts)

This position is based in Wisconsin.  The Sales Manager for the East Coast / New England areas will work in a commutable distance to their WI headquarters with the ability to drive in twice a week.  Opportunity to work from home three days a week, in addition to traveling to the territory 1-3 times per month via air.  Client management is done via phone, Teams, email, and in-person.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Sales Manager is responsible for the sales of company ingredient products in their region
  • These responsibilities will include developing, maintaining, and training of distributors and customers
  • The sales manager will work closely with brokers on the sale of company ingredients to a variety of A, B, and C customers of all sizes
  • Also included is the use of technical, organization and product knowledge to influence customers and assist them in applying the products and services to their needs resulting in revenue generation
  • The introduction of new products and appropriate demos into the market will be considered a high priority
  • Responsibilities also include assisting in major trade shows outside of the defined territory, completion of trip reports and assisting customer service in collection of past due accounts

Job Requirements

Technical Qualifications:

  • Bachelors is preferred. Open to relevant work experience
  • In conjunction with our distributors, the manager will work to understand customer needs and develop application of products by determining strategies and goals for each sales market
  • Work with the Director of Sales to develop a client and potential customer visit schedule allotting appropriate time for sales market maintenance and development
  • Obtain and coordinate data and information from staff and distributors to develop a list of potential customers, follow up on visits, and maintain an up-to-date understanding of consumer trends
  • Establish and maintain relationships with distributors, ensuring that the company’s products are marketed frequently and effectively by distributors when the manager is not in the country
  • Develop and deliver sales presentations in a professional and effective manner by working with distributors to understand specific customer needs, utilizing demos where appropriate
  • Participate in sales forecasting and planning by researching, developing and maintaining long and short-range sales, produce regular reports and final plans for Director’s approval, maintaining an up-to-date awareness of company’s and region’s strategic sales plans
  • Develop and maintain communications in a cooperative and professional manner with all levels of staff and distributors by communicating openly, honestly and constructively, treating all employees, distributors and customers with dignity, respect and courtesy, and asking for information needed to perform job responsibilities
  • Prepares periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion. Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition.
    • Work well as a team with good communication to colleagues and customers
    • Great describer of food including smell, taste, post consumption
    • Good at leading by influence, and a personality for giving presentations
