Sanitation Supervisor – 3rd Shift
The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily cleaning and sanitation procedures for the company’s salsa plant operations as well as warehousing. Cleaning and sanitation practices and procedures need to meet both USDA and FDA standards for production cleanliness and readiness. The incumbent in this position must be able to lead and motivate a diverse organization.
Essential Functions:
- Supervise the overall plant sanitation program, including practices and procedures
- Supervise the sanitation team to maximum effect as evidenced by successfully performing against internal and external audits
- Operating knowledge of food production equipment including, but not limited to fillers, depositors, kettles, conveyors, freezers, case erectors, case packers
- Operating knowledge of LOTO procedures
- Work cross functionally with production operations and planning to achieve scheduled startup and shutdown times
- Work cross functionally with Quality Assurance to minimize quality issues and proactively address food safety requirements related to USDA, FDA, SQF, and organic requirements in order to maintain the highest food safety and quality standards
- Communicates and interacts effectively with all departments and management to ensure the smooth operation of our cleaning and sanitation program
- Develops, monitors, and trains employees on SOPs for all cleaning and sanitation procedures
- Interacts with regulatory compliance agencies (i.e., USDA, FDA, etc.) as needed
- Initiate and present projects to other management staff for equipment, process, or technology improvements that could be made to our cleaning and sanitation program
- Coaches, trains and develops team members to improve individual performance

Job Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Broad understanding and experience with USDA, FDA/FSMA, SQF standards and regulations
- Broad understanding and experience with HACCP/HARPC, GMPs, SSOPs
- Comprehensive knowledge of food safety standards and regulations including but not limited to pest control, allergen control, lot traceability, foodborne pathogens, sanitation practices, environmental monitoring, recall programs, etc.
- Technical ability to show and explain production equipment breakdowns for cleaning and sanitation processes
- Communication and presentation skills both verbal and written
- Bi-lingual English / Spanish ability
- Demonstrated ability to direct, coach, and train employees
