This 120 year old company is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Product Development Associate to join our Product Development Team, supporting the creation and improvement of Ready-to-Eat (RTE) breakfast cereal products. This role is ideal for early-career professionals looking to grow their skills in food formulation, commercialization, and cross-functional collaboration. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of senior team members to help bring new and reformulated products from concept to production.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the formulation and reformulation of RTE breakfast cereal products to meet quality, cost, and customer requirements.
- Support the scale-up process from benchtop trials to full production, including conducting plant trials and collecting data.
- Work closely with ingredient suppliers to gather technical information, samples, and specifications.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and procurement teams to ensure formulas are properly implemented and maintained.
- Assist the sales and customer teams by participating in product development projects and helping to resolve formulation-related questions.
- Maintain organized documentation of product specifications, formulation changes, and trial results.
- Stay informed of basic food industry trends and best practices in product development and quality assurance.

Salary
$85,000 - $95,000

Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field with 3+ years of experience in food product development, quality, or manufacturing.
- Exposure to RTE cereals, snacks, or extruded products is a plus but not required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with solid time management and project coordination abilities.
- Able to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.
- Willingness to work onsite—this is not a remote position.
