Job Description

Our client is seeking a Senior Planner/Buyer, Contract Manufacturing to manage end-to-end supply chain activities for outsourced manufacturing operations. This position will be responsible for production planning, procurement, inventory management, supplier performance, and product availability, while partnering closely with contract manufacturers and internal cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage MRP-driven purchasing, inventory levels, purchase orders, and production schedules.
  • Maintain Master Production Schedules for contract-manufactured products.
  • Develop and manage strong relationships with contract manufacturers and suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance, lead times, backorders, quality issues, and delivery commitments.
  • Coordinate component shipments and ensure accurate supply chain documentation.
  • Manage Bills of Material (BOMs), pricing, supplier data, and contracts.
  • Identify cost reduction and process improvement opportunities.
  • Support forecasting and proactively mitigate supply risks and potential stockouts.
  • Partner with Quality, R&D, Regulatory, Marketing, and Sales on new product introductions, line trials, and commercialization.
  • Support quality and regulatory requirements within a regulated manufacturing environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, or related field.
  • 5+ years of supply chain planning, procurement, or production management experience, preferably with contract manufacturing.
  • Proven experience managing third-party manufacturing and supplier relationships.
  • Background in CPG, food, pharmaceutical, or regulated manufacturing preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of MRP, demand planning, inventory management, and production scheduling.
  • ERP experience required; SAP S/4HANA and SAP IBP highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across functions and influence without authority.
  • APICS CSCP certification is a plus.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Compensation: $86,000–$105,000 base salary, plus eligibility for a discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits.
