Senior Regulatory Manager

The Senior Regulatory Affairs Manager is responsible for managing the on-market product support for USA and Canada Food, Industry, Pharma with support to the Americas Innovation Programs.  Under direction of the Regulatory Head implement food ingredient product assessments, compliance, label claims, GRAS affirmation and daily customer service support and alignment with global multi-functional areas.  Assist in the product qualification process with various regulatory agencies.  Ensures that regulatory frameworks are translated into regulatory policies and implemented.  Interface and communicate internally and externally with company colleagues, regulatory contacts, suppliers and customers for product support and compliance.  Responsibilities to include:

  • Interpret and implement regulatory requirements for USA and Canada on market and innovation products for food ingredients and pharma application support
  • Prepare and publish all regulatory submissions to assure accuracy and completeness of submission documents including meetings, briefing packages for internal program and agency communications
  • Provide regulatory assessments and support to daily customer compliance requests
  • Provides regulatory documents in compliance with customer and country-specific requirements
  • Establish and maintain regulatory systems and documentation for product and agency compliance to current and emerging legislation
  • Implements tools and databases for regulatory operations and process improvements
  • Drafts, maintains, and updates regulatory guidelines, positions, SOPs for the department
  • Compiles product ingredient information and regulatory assessments by country for the Americas and globally with colleagues as needed
  • Leads GRAS affirmation, development of product label claims, including experience with Natural, GMO, and Organic developing legislation and product strategies
  • Strong working knowledge and ability to interpret current domestic (USDA, FDA, AAFCO, Health Canada) and international regulations
  • Supports Regulatory Head on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of various factors
  • Balance multiple projects, step-in to fill-in and take over ongoing projects with minimal notice, multiple deadlines on conflicting projects
  • Work experience in international and changing environment
  • Proven success of track record working in a regulated environment

  • BS in a Science related field
  • 8-10 years of experience
  • OTC or supplement background required
  • Solid communication skills
