Senior Sanitation Manager

The Senior Sanitation Manager will provide leadership to direct and support the team and processes required within the sanitation area of our food manufacturing plant.  Other duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Provide leadership to implement successfully SQF Level III certification
  • Adhere to GMPs and FDA regulations as well as maintain GMP provisions over and above the standards for Safe Quality Food
  • Maintain detailed record keeping for all regulatory audits
  • Develop strategic systems, partnerships and provide necessary training and leadership for growth of sanitation team members. Write and submit monthly sanitation report to Plant Manager
  • Understand, maintain inventory, and have knowledge of chemicals used in the cleaning and sanitation process
  • Source and make recommendations on purchasing new products
  • Understand the manufacturing process and equipment parts / systems in order to ensure proper equipment sanitation and efficient line startups
  • Manage labor and expenses to meet or exceed budgets

Job Requirements

Technical Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years previous work experience in a manufacturing environment, which includes prior experience in food manufacturing and in a leadership role in support of a sanitation team
  • Working knowledge of administering a master sanitation schedule and preparing and up keeping of the book schedule
  • Must have food manufacturing experience and working knowledge of SSOPs, USDA, FDA, HACCP, and GMPs. Understanding of Safe Quality Food standards
  • Ability to work all shifts, flexible with long hours and on weekends as necessary, to support the sanitation team in meeting company goals and objectives
  • Team focused, accurate and thorough, ethical, self-motivated professional with attention to detail
  • Ability to work with other members of plant leadership team in a collaborative manner
  • Analytical, forward focused, problem solving, project management, strong interpersonal and communication skills both in written and verbal
  • A bias for action – proactive and self-starter working in a culture of goal setting with continuous improvement focus
