Purpose and Mission:

• Our client is looking for a Senior Chemist level individual who is an independent contributor for wood coatings with 10+ years of experience
• The chemistries focus on waterborne and solvent borne with some UV-curable opportunities
• This position will primarily involve developing new products, learning and maintain our existing product lines and software, mentoring other staff members, and collaborating with other departments
• This position reports directly to the Technical Director

Technical Qualifications:

• BS in Chemistry or relevant field with 10 years’ experience formulating all types of wood coatings
• Have an in-depth understanding of the differences in products and application
• Must have a complete understanding of application equipment
• Must have a complete understanding of coating systems
• Should have ability to formulate colors (color test to be administered)
• Have a familiarity with solvents & additives and their correlations in coatings
• Have knowledge with testing parameters: KCMA, AWI, ASTM etc…
• Be able to communicate between departments and remain objective
