Job Description
My client, an industry leader is currently seeking a Shipping & Receiving Supervisor for their facility in NW Indiana.
Shipping & Receiving Supervisor: Reporting to the Shipping & Receiving Manager, this position will be responsible for front-line supervisor and leadership of plant personnel and monitoring daily work flow to ensure the schedule is met in a safe and effective manner.
- Work cross-functionally with other departments
- Ensure schedule is met and resolve any issues that may arise in scheduling
- Communicate any employee or department issues
- Participate in Union affairs
- Supervise 7-10 plant employees
The ideal candidate:
- 3+ years of experience in a Shipping & Receiving role – railcars, bulk tankers, barges
- 3+ years of proven leadership/supervisory experience – hiring, disciplinary, firing, coaching
- Excellent people skills
- Union experience is a plus
**This is a 3rd shift position.
