Sr. Beverage Applications Technologist
The Sr. Beverage Applications Technologist is an advanced position. The Beverage Applications team develops new product formulations covering all variations of beverages including still, fruit, carbonated, and alcohol based. The Application team works in a collaborative setting with the Flavor Creations, Sensory and Commercial functions throughout the innovation cycle – ideation and concept development through finished product delivery.
The position requires the skills and creativity to provide both best-in-class customer solutions and innovative, trend-setting products that proactively showcase the flavor technologies, including finished concepts for trade shows, proactive demos, and marketing driven projects.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Independently develop and optimize finished product formulations using various flavor delivery systems used in beverage applications
- Alcohol based ingredients interaction and flavor knowledge highly desirable
- Have ability to reverse engineer finished products from label declaration and nutrition panels
- Must possess thorough understanding of finished product batching and processing
- Must possess expertise in beverage category (carbonated, non-carbonated, alcohol, etc.)
- Lead cross-functional teams for key accounts to create demos and presentations
- Provide advanced technical support to customers and production runs
- Lead and manage long term projects independently in terms of planning, analysis, communication and managing tasks performed by other team members
- Able to solve complex problems; capable of collecting information from various sources both internal and external

Job Requirements
Technical Qualifications:
- BS degree or higher in Food Science or other applied science
- 5 years minimum. 7+ years’ experience ideal as Applications Technologist / Scientist and/or lab experience in beverage product development. Alcohol interaction highly preferred
- The ability to work accurately, quickly and with good laboratory practices across multiple projects within the day / week
- The ability to take a beverage product from conception through development to commercialization
- You must possess good documentation skills and be adept at working within programs such as Excel, Word & assorted databases
- You must have knowledge of recipes, basic mixing and blending skills and the ability to follow formulations precisely
- The ability and interest to interact directly with customers or travel with Account Managers
- Great communicator and likes to lead and work in a team environment
- Likes to be an ambassador / advocate of the company and represent with pride at trade-show, with customers and community
- Enthusiasm to drive research and results in the company
- Excellent communication skills
- Broad understanding of our business
- Mentor and coach junior employees
- May indirectly supervise other Application Technologists
